Clouds in the sunset

                           St Paul's Bay at sunset.

Clouds come floating into my life no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky.

hot chocolate and Hot Chocolate.

We woke this morning to a dismal cold wet day after a beautiful week of blue skies and sunshine.
Just the kind of day for curling up in a cosy chair with a good book and a mug of steaming cocoa.
Then a little background music,-soothing,-nothing heavy.
What about more Hot Chocolate with their poignant little 70's song?
Oh yes----that's definitely better!- I can face the weather now.

Rhymes and Reasons and John Denver.

I was looking at our little cyclamen this morning, soaking in the bright freshness of it, and somehow I heard myself humming John Denver's sweet song. How we need that simplicity, that trust, that uninhibited joy,  that real comfort and reassurance.

How we need to try to give it to each other,----I'm sure then that the world would change and FEAR would dissolve!

Today's painting--- Poppies.

After the warmth of Christmas time and its colours I still yearn for the brightness of red, that vibrant colour that for me seems always to radiate a glow.

A textured medium with acrylics is ideal for this so this small poppy painting satisfies my longing.

7"X10"it is painted on boxed canvas and can stand or hang.

Flying high!

This year I hope to learn to fly-----really high----and to stay cool like Dean!
Simple lyrics, but so true.

I hope you'll join me .

Golden Days and a touch of scarlet.

January can be a tricky month here in Malta with biting cold, and bleak winds,  this last week though we have bathed in brilliant blue skies and a warm sun that turns the houses to golden.

Such a lovely beginning to the year and I'm thankful;.---- especially when we hear that family in England have snow again.

The nights are still cold and damp though and I need  candlelight and a touch of  warm reds to let me feel alive!

Wishing you blue skies and sunshine.

The Journey of the Magi

The coming of the Wise Men, and the opening out of the beautiful Revelation to all people.
How in need we are of a second Epiphany to show us that all is finally well
with the world and that Peace reigns at last.

A last glimpse of Christmas in the studio. Here and at home we always keep the decorations up until now. It's so sad to see the crib and tree gone, -the room  seems drearier without them. Candles I keep burning, I need their warmth and inspiration.
----So now ----into the New Year with optimism!
