I've always been interested in eating in a simple healthy way, long before it became fashionable to do so. I try never to become fanatical, or make a fetish out of eating, I just believe that we have been provided with food in natural abundance ,and that if we were able to work with nature to preserve and nurture this, seeing that everyone had enough, then the world would certainly be a happier place.
I feel too that food should be enjoyed in its natural, unadulterated state, and that meals should become part of the rhythm of life and living. It seems that this pressurised society encourages 'instant eating' with no time for appreciation, relaxation, and a sense of communion with others. How sad when many cultures we would call primitive regard meal eating as a sacred ritual and truly understand the need to love and respect food.
I came across this video as a simple introduction to whole foods and I like the uncomplicated, straightforward approach.Annemarie Colbin has a doctorate in the subject yet she is able to convey her message simply and without fuss. Her website is interesting,----a lot of information here. Her books look interesting too, I'm especially drawn to the latest theme -'Whole Foods for Strong Bones.-a Holistic Approach. http://www.foodandhealing.com/
So take a look if you have time, I'm sure you will find something to interest you. Mo.
