I wanted this to be a happy painting with a feeling of lightness,

and so the sunshine yellow sets the mood.The sun to

radiate warmth and energy.

I felt it needed a sense of restfulness too, a quiet relective

tone that  would be a calming focus.

Simplicity is in most of my paintings, I like the lack of complication,

the unclutteredness that helps clear the mind and soul.

So the stool is here,- also the daisies with their

simple freshness, their little centres, microcosms

of the yellow sun. Maybe a little mysticism?
